Vessel Overview & The Open Deck
Green Ocean 1 is a 1988-built mono-hull workhorse. While it is the slowest private ferry (taking 2 hours and 15 minutes to reach Havelock at 13 knots), it makes up for the time with its legendary open-deck cafeteria. After the first hour of sailing, the deck transforms into an open-air social hub where you can feel the sea breeze, spot flying fish, and enjoy Bollywood hits played by the onboard DJ.
Economy Class
Price: ~₹1,100 - ₹1,400
The absolute cheapest private ferry ticket in Andaman. Located on the lower deck with basic seating. Pro Tip: Request seats 1-20 near the front to avoid engine noise and diesel fumes at the back.
Premium Class
Price: ~₹1,450 - ₹1,750
The sweet spot for this vessel. Located on the middle deck, these seats offer better legroom and, crucially, immediate step-out access to the open deck cafeteria without having to climb stairs.
Royal Class
Price: ~₹1,550 - ₹1,850
Located on the upper deck offering the least engine vibration. However, for a ferry known for its open deck party vibe, paying extra for the enclosed Royal class is rarely justified.
Monsoon Warning
The famous open deck is heavily dependent on weather. During the monsoons (June - September) or in rough seas, the crew will lock the doors and block access to the open deck for safety reasons. If you are traveling during this time, you will be confined to the aging interior cabin, meaning you might be better off booking a modern, enclosed catamaran like ITT Majestic or Nautika instead.
