๐Ÿšข Andaman Ship Ticket Booking

Ship travel is an important part of transportation in the Andaman & Nicobar Islands. Government-operated passenger vessels connect Sri Vijaya Puram with different islands and mainland destinations.

The Directorate of Shipping Services (DSS), Andaman & Nicobar Administration, operates the official STARS e-Ticketing system for online reservation of ship tickets.

Through the online system, passengers can check available voyages, fares and berth availability, make reservations and manage their tickets.

โš“ What is STARS e-Ticketing?

STARS is the online e-ticketing system of the Directorate of Shipping Services, Andaman & Nicobar Administration.

The system is designed to make ship-ticket reservation more convenient by allowing passengers to book eligible voyages online instead of depending only on physical ticket counters.

Important: Always check the latest voyage schedule, fare, availability and sailing status on the official DSS portal before making travel arrangements. Sailing schedules can change because of weather, technical or administrative reasons.

๐Ÿ›ณ๏ธ Ship & Ferry Services

The DSS system covers different categories of passenger marine services.

  • Foreshore Services โ€“ passenger services connecting nearby island destinations.
  • Inter-Island Services โ€“ passenger vessels connecting different islands.
  • Mainland Services โ€“ ship services connecting the islands with mainland destinations such as Chennai, Kolkata and Visakhapatnam, subject to sailing schedules.
  • Harbour Ferry Services โ€“ local passenger ferry services operating between nearby locations.

A sailing may be delayed, rescheduled or cancelled because of adverse weather, technical reasons or administrative requirements.

๐ŸŒŠ Travel Tip: Do not depend only on an old sailing schedule. Check the latest voyage status and availability from the official DSS portal before travelling to the jetty.

โš“ Harbour Ferry Services

DSS also provides harbour passenger ferry services connecting nearby locations. Depending on the service, passengers may be able to use daily tickets or applicable monthly passes.

Harbour services have separate schedules and operating arrangements. Passengers should check the official DSS harbour-service information for the latest timetable and ticket availability.

๐Ÿ๏ธ Important Island Connections

Ship and ferry connectivity is particularly important for residents and visitors travelling between Sri Vijaya Puram and island destinations.

  • Swaraj Dweep (Havelock)
  • Shaheed Dweep (Neil)
  • Baratang Island
  • Rangat
  • Mayabunder
  • Long Island
  • Diglipur
  • Little Andaman / Hut Bay
  • Mainland sectors, subject to published sailing schedules

๐Ÿšข Mainland Ship Travel

Government ship services also connect the Andaman Islands with mainland ports through scheduled voyages.

Mainland sailing schedules are not the same as regular inter-island ferry services. Travellers should therefore check the official DSS sailing schedule before planning a mainland ship journey.
