ABHA Card Now Mandatory for OPD Registration at G.B. Pant Hospital

The Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM), launched by the Government of India, aims to create a unified digital health ecosystem across the country. Under this initiative, citizens are provided with a unique ABHA (Health ID) that enables secure access to personal health records and seamless sharing across healthcare facilities. Patients visiting G.B. Pant Hospital in Port Blair are now required to use their ABHA/Health ID or Aadhaar-linked mobile number for OPD registration. This step is intended to improve patient convenience, reduce waiting time, and enhance digital healthcare services. The Scan & Share facility has also been introduced to streamline registration processes across major hospitals in the Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
