The Andaman & Nicobar Coastal Zone Management Authority (A&NCZMA), functioning under the Department of Environment & Forests, has invited applications from eligible candidates for the engagement of Consultant on a purely contractual basis for the financial year 2026โ€“27. The selected consultant will be responsible for scrutinizing Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) reports and other documents related to Coastal Regulation Zone (CRZ) project proposals.

The recruitment is for two contractual positions, with a consolidated monthly remuneration of โ‚น40,000. The place of posting will be within the Andaman & Nicobar Islands.

Educational Qualification

Candidates applying for the post should possess:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Forestry, Environmental Science, Marine Biology, Ocean Studies, or an equivalent discipline from a recognized university.
  • Relevant experience in environmental studies, Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA), ecology, marine biology, risk analysis, or environmental management.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office.
  • Maximum age limit of 50 years.

Key Responsibilities

The selected consultant will be expected to:

  • Examine Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) reports and CRZ-related project documents.
  • Assess terrestrial and marine ecosystem impacts.
  • Review disaster risk assessment reports.
  • Evaluate environmental management plans.
  • Verify environmental mitigation measures.
  • Ensure scientific and regulatory compliance of project proposals.
  • Perform other related duties assigned by the competent authority.

Selection Process

Selection will be carried out through a 100-mark weightage system, followed by an interview.

The evaluation includes marks for:

  • Higher Secondary (12th)
  • Graduation
  • Post Graduation
  • Relevant work experience
  • Interview

Only shortlisted candidates will be invited for the interview.

Important Terms

  • The appointment is purely temporary and contractual for the financial year 2026โ€“27.
  • The contract may be extended depending on performance and departmental requirements.
  • The remuneration is consolidated and no additional allowances such as DA or HRA will be be paid.
  • The engagement does not provide any claim for regular Government employment.
