The programme, conducted through the institute's Skill Development Programme (SDP) Cell, offers training in Manual Metal Arc Welding (MMAW) / Shielded Metal Arc Welding (Welder โ€“ NSQF Level 3). The course duration is three months (390 training hours) and combines classroom learning with practical hands-on sessions.

One of the key highlights of the programme is the On-the-Job Training (OJT) component, where participants will receive practical workplace exposure in suitable departments under the Andaman and Nicobar Administration. This industry-oriented approach is intended to help trainees build real-world experience alongside technical knowledge.
