Dr. Dinesh Sharma Arrives in Sri Vijaya Puram, to Be Sworn In as 14th Lt. Governor of Andaman & Nicobar Islands
Lt. Governor-designate Dr. Dinesh Sharma arrived in Sri Vijaya Puram on Sunday to a warm welcome ahead of his swearing-in as the 14th Lieutenant Governor of the Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
Dr. Sharma arrived along with his wife, Smt. Jai Lakshmi Sharma, and was received by senior officials of the Andaman & Nicobar Administration at Veer Savarkar International Airport.
The swearing-in ceremony of the Lt. Governor-designate is scheduled to be held on September 15, 2026, at 11:30 AM at Lok Niwas, Sri Vijaya Puram.
The Hon'ble Justice Ravindra Vithalrao Ghuge, Chief Justice of the Calcutta High Court, will administer the Oath of Office and Oath of Secrecy to Dr. Dinesh Sharma.
During his arrival, Dr. Sharma was presented with a warm welcome by senior officials and representatives of the administration. The occasion marked the beginning of his tenure as the new constitutional head of the Union Territory.
The Lt. Governor-designate also expressed his commitment to the development and welfare of the Andaman & Nicobar Islands. He emphasized the importance of realizing the islands' potential while working towards the aspirations of the people.
