Indian Army Launches 'Delhi to Dweep 2.0' to Expand Agniveer Recruitment in Andaman & Nicobar Islands

The Indian Army has introduced 'Delhi to Dweep 2.0', a special outreach programme designed to encourage and support young aspirants from the Andaman & Nicobar Islands in joining the Armed Forces through the Agniveer recruitment process.

The initiative focuses on ensuring that candidates from remote island regions receive the same opportunities as applicants from mainland India. By bringing recruitment awareness and guidance closer to island communities, the Army aims to increase participation among eligible youth.

According to the official programme, shortlisted candidates who have qualified in the Common Entrance Examination (CEE) for Recruitment Year 2026-27 will participate in the Agniveer Recruitment Rally scheduled from 23 August to 26 August 2026 at Netaji Stadium, Sri Vijaya Puram.

During the recruitment rally, candidates will undergo various stages of the selection process, including:

  • Physical Fitness Test (PFT)
  • Physical Measurement Test (PMT)
  • Verification of original documents
  • Medical Examination

The recruitment process will be conducted by the Recruiting Office (Headquarters), Chennai, under the supervision of the Headquarters Recruiting Zone (South).

Officials stated that the campaign is intended to improve access to recruitment opportunities for youth living in geographically distant areas such as the Andaman & Nicobar Islands. In collaboration with the Andaman & Nicobar Administration, educational institutions, local authorities and defence establishments, awareness programmes have been organized to inform students and job seekers about career opportunities in the Indian Army.

Candidates have been advised to download their Admit Cards only from the official Indian Army recruitment portal and report to the rally venue strictly according to the date and time mentioned on their admit cards. They should also carry all required original documents, including educational certificates, domicile certificate, Aadhaar Card, passport-size photographs and any other documents specified in the recruitment instructions.

The Indian Army has once again reminded applicants to stay alert against fraudulent agents or individuals claiming to secure recruitment in exchange for money. Officials emphasized that the entire selection process is transparent, merit-based and free from external influence.

The Army encouraged all eligible youth from the Andaman & Nicobar Islands to make the most of this opportunity and pursue a career in the nation's defence services. Interested candidates should regularly visit the official recruitment portal for updates regarding admit cards, rally schedules and other recruitment-related notifications.
