Territorial Army Awareness Programme Inspires Students at MGGC, Mayabunder
Mayabunder, July 16: Mahatma Gandhi Government College (MGGC), Mayabunder, organized a Territorial Army Awareness Programme on 16 July 2026 in the college's seminar hall to educate students about career opportunities and the importance of serving the nation through the Territorial Army.
The awareness session was attended by second-year and third-year students of the college. The programme featured Subedar PSS Rao Mavuri from the 154 Infantry Battalion, Territorial Army, Bihar, as the resource person. During his interactive session, he explained the role, responsibilities, and significance of the Territorial Army while encouraging students to consider serving the nation through this prestigious force.
Principal Dr. R. V. R. Murthy addressed the gathering and emphasized the values of discipline, patriotism, leadership, and national service. He encouraged students to actively participate in such awareness programmes that help shape responsible and dedicated citizens.
The programme began with a welcome address by Dr. G. Godson Bedeiah, Assistant Professor of English, who greeted the resource person and participants while highlighting the importance of career awareness initiatives for young students.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Prashant Kumar Choudhary, Head of the Department of Physical Education. He expressed gratitude to the guest speaker, faculty members, and students for their enthusiastic participation, making the programme a meaningful and successful event.
The awareness programme received an encouraging response from students, who showed keen interest in learning about the opportunities, responsibilities, and service commitment associated with joining the Territorial Army.
